We're in the stunning Blatten hamlet in Zermatt, Switzerland, and are looking at a brilliant piece of historical craftsmanship: the "mushroom stones" that form the foundations of the traditional chalets here. Known locally as "Stadelsteine" or "Mäuseplatten," these ingenious stones were designed to protect stored food and grain from pests.

Heruteu, is in Zermatt, Switzerland, to rebuild a historically significant retaining wall. The wall, located between Blatten and Zum See, once served as a road for local farmers and merchants and is on a hiking trail to the iconic Matterhorn.

For the past five years, the Alp Walop wall project, a collaboration between Stiftung Urgestein, skilled craftsmen, and numerous volunteers, has been working to restore a dry-stone wall in Switzerland. This wall, one of the steepest to be restored in recent times, acts as a border between the cantons of Fribourg and Bern. Heruteu has been a proud partner since the project's second year.
